Advice business transformation through portfolio risk technology

In this session Damien Mooney from BlackRock will explain why risk matters and how risk technology is improving the adviser/client experience. Drawing on experiences from around the globe, the session will outline why understanding risk in portfolios is more vitally important than ever before, and why wealth management firms can and should be using sophisticated technology already in use by investment management firms for decades to advise on investor portfolios. The session will outline examples of how risk technology is enabling better outcomes for advised clients, greater efficiency in how advisers run their practices and crucially how this technology is improving advice firms’ ability to monitor their business for regulatory purposes.

Marie-Anne is the Sydney GM of Stone and Chalk (S&C) and is our MC for InvestTech 2019. S&C is a not for profit organisation with a dual focus of helping startups commercialise and grow, and corporate partners innovate from the outside in. S&C was born in fintech in Sydney and has now expanded in Melbourne in Adelaide as it replicates this model with different sectors. Prior to joining S&C, Marie-Anne spent 10 years at BT Financial Group where she worked exclusively in superannuation. Prior to that she worked in professional services.

InvestTech 2019 is being held at the Amora Hotel, which is right in the middle of Sydney's CBD.

Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney  is 5 star and offers full conference amenities and has spacious, boutique guest rooms with separate bath and shower, along with a service that sets the standard for Sydney hospitality.

An easy walk from Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo and Opera House, right by teh new tram in George St, and only  minutes from Wynyard train station makes Amora one of the most desired locations for those travelling on either business or leisure.
