IMAP hosts ASIC Briefing on MDA Changes
Join IMAP, the peak body for Managed Accounts, at briefings in Sydney (5th April) and Melbourne (9th April) where officers from ASIC will explain the background to the proposed changes to the MDA regulations.
The proposed changes to the MDA regulations will bring about profound change in this important financial product as ASIC looks to ensure providers are strong and consumers are informed. Advisers, MDA Operators, custodians and service providers will all be affected by changes that include:
- Cancellation of the No Action letter on limited MDAs
- NTA requirements for MDA Operators and custodians
- Reduced audit requirements
- Recognition that many MDAs are operated through platforms
ASIC will present the background to the changes, key features of their proposals and answer questions from the floor.
Consultation is open until April and IMAP is coordinating an industry response. Each session is from 12 – 2 and includes a light lunch.
