Before joining Ironbark in 2009, Alex was Head of Investment Sales for Colonial First State where he was responsible for the distribution of Colonial’s investment products in the Australian market.

He has also worked as head of fixed income for Schroder Investment Management and Deutsche Asset Management.

Prior to joining JANA, he was a part of the Asset Allocation team at the New Zealand Superannuation fund, with responsibilities across reference portfolio design, the capital allocation process (risk-budgeting), and liquidity risk modelling.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Honours) in Finance and a Graduate Diploma in Economics, both from Victoria University of Wellington. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Clive is a Senior Strategist with State Street Investment Management covering Australia. He is responsible for engaging with clients to interpret their objectives and design appropriate portfolio solutions.
Clive and the APAC Investment Strategy and Research team conduct research on asset allocation trends, making recommendations on potential enhancements at the total portfolio, asset class or sub-portfolio level. Clive also works on customized research and analysis for clients.
Previously Clive was at QBE where he was most recently Manager of Investment Strategy. This involved translating research into strategic and tactical asset allocation recommendations for a global multi-currency investment portfolio.
He began his time with QBE as an Actuarial Analyst, before being promoted to Investment Risk Analyst. Prior to QBE, Clive was a Research Consultant AquilaExec and a Superannuation Business Analyst at BT Financial Group.
Clive is a CFA Charterholder. He holds a Master of Actuarial Studies from the University of New South Wales and a BSc (Actuarial Science) from Curtin University.

Deanne joined Lonsec Investment Solutions (now Evidentia) as Portfolio Manager in late 2019 and is responsible for the management of Lonsec’s multi-asset & retirement portfolios.
Deanne was with the Lonsec Group since July 2007 and holds over 20 years’ experience in managed funds research and portfolio management.
Prior to joining LIS, Deanne was Co-Head of Manager Research at Lonsec, responsible for the quality and suitability of Lonsec’s managed funds research and overseeing an award-winning team of analysts.
Deanne is a member of the Asset Allocation and Manager Selection Committees.
In prior roles Deanne spent 7 years with Invesco (and its predecessor, County Investment Management) where she worked as an Investment Analyst and later, Assistant Investment Manager for multi-asset class and structured portfolios.

Jason’s experience includes managing $900m in assets for BT (now Pendal) and managing absolute return strategies for hedge funds in Asia and the US.
He has a strong tech background through his experience as a Software Engineer at Boeing, and quant development roles at Barclays Capital and BAML.

Jason started his investment career with Microsoft’s Capital Markets team, which managed the firm’s internal equity strategies.
Jason earned a Bachelor of Economics from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, a Master of Computational Finance from the University of Washington, an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and he is a CFA charterholder.

Julie Ballard is Director of Channel Management for Australia and New Zealand at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). Julie works with index partners and wealth management industry participants to increase visibility and support the expansion of index-based investment strategies in investment portfolios across all asset classes.
Julie joined S&P DJI in March 2022, with extensive experience in national distribution and strategic account management at global and ASX-listed financial services organizations including Citigroup, AXA, AMP and MLC Asset Management (previously part of the National Australia Bank Group). Her scope of coverage has spanned across asset management, platform administration, superannuation, insurance and lending.
Julie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School. She has also studied Design Thinking at Stanford University

Kieran began working in the financial services industry in 1992 as a Financial Adviser for premier clients of The Standard Bank in South Africa.
In 2003 Kieran joined Centric (Wealth), which was at the time a wealth management firm. Kieran’s roles included Head of Lending, Head of Treasury Services and subsequently Head of Products and Services.
As a result of Findex’s 2014 acquisition of Centric Wealth, Kieran joined the Findex Group Executive Team as Chief Investment Officer. Kieran’s team manages over $17.5B in Findex Group FUA including more than $10B in the Findex Managed Discretionary Accounts.
Since its inception in 2019, Kieran has been instrumental in assisting with the launch and development of Centric as an Investment Platform.
Today, Kieran is the Chief Investment Officer for Centric, the Vice Chair of the Findex Investment Committee, Chair of the Centric Investment Committee and he also holds a number of responsible manager and board positions within the Findex Group.

Mark also spent time within the Ernst & Young corporate finance team in Singapore.

Ned Bell is Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager and shareholder at Bell Asset Management. He has 27 years of experience in the investment industry researching and managing global, international and regional equity strategies across differing market cycles.
Ned first gained his stock selection and portfolio construction skills while working for Loomis Sayles and Co in 1997, working in cities across the US, Boston, Massachusetts, San Francisco, California and Washington DC.
He is primarily responsible for the overall return outcomes of client portfolios and providing investment leadership. In addition to Ned’s portfolio management duties, he has primary research coverage responsibilities for Materials and Telecommunications sectors and secondary responsibilities over Industrials and Health Care sector stocks.
He is also responsible for recruiting talent, organising, mentoring and imbuing the investment team in the firm’s way of managing assets.
Ned joined the firm in November 2000, taking over sole responsibility for managing all equity portfolios in 2003.
This included the formulation and design of the Investment Philosophy as well as the Investment Style based on the premise that a portfolio of very high-quality businesses will deliver above average returns over the medium to long term – ‘Quality at a Reasonable Price’. Ned introduced, and with his colleagues, developed and refined the investment process to ensure client portfolios demonstrate desirable investment characteristics relative to the benchmark.
Earlier roles include working for Bell Commodities as a futures dealer on the trading floor of the Sydney Futures Exchange.

Toby has championed IMAP's mission for a number of years and is a key contributor for IMAP (along with others) in the representation to ASIC on recent changes to the MDA regulations and ongoing regulatory matters.
His experience in the wider investments market is extensive and his advice and experience is frequently sought after for his breadth and detail, plus his knowledge of the people in the industry.
His working experience includes key roles for NAB, IOOF, Morningstar, Managed Accounts, SFG Australia


Jenny Phimleut

Jenny manages IMAP's program of conference events, webinars and publication, and liaises with sponsors, speakers
Jenny supports and organises IMAP special interest groups i.e. The Regulatory Group, and the Data Standards Group, and works closely with Toby, David and the IMAP team.
She is responsible for maintaining IMAP's digital presence, as well processes and policies as well as developing promotional material.
Jenny's Financial Services background covers Next Financial working in Product and Portfolio Management and Shadforth Financial Group.
